Gardasil is a new vaccine produced by Merck to protect girls and young women from the Human Papillomavirus types 6, 11, 16 and 18. This is protection from Cervical Cancer, Cervical Dysplasia and genital warts.
It consists of three doses. The second dose is 2 months after the first dose and the third doses is 4 months after the second dose. The duration of immunity has not been established.
The cost will be about $150.00 for each dose so we would like to know how many people would like to have the medication so it could be ordered.
Predictably, there is a rush to mandate the vaccine by lawmakers who see a great drop in the incidence of the diseases. Parental rights advocates disagree. New information indicates that perhaps the vaccine should include antibodies against HPV type 58 as well.
